Routes
Discovering Aeolian Islands
Our recommended itinerary for a week.
The departure is always from the Marina di Capo d’Orlando .

Alicudi and Filicudi
Characterised by extinct volcanic craters and lush underwater seabeds. In Filicudi, you can admire the Faraglione La Canna, the Scoglio della Fortuna and the spectacular Grotta del Bue. The quiet Alicudi is the most “wild” island, where you can discover incredible Mediterranean landscapes, such as the Scoglio della Galera.
Salina
The second island by extension and with the highest reliefs of the archipelago are a beautiful forest of ferns, a sheer drop on splendid beaches like that of Pollara. Salina is also famous for being set in the film "Il Postino" by Massimo Troisi and for the renowned local granita.
Stromboli
Stromboli is home to the most active volcano in Europe, with spectacular and frequent eruptions that can also be admired from the Navy Observatory at Punta Labronzo. With a bit of luck, you can witness the Sciara del Fuoco: the lava flow that descends to the sea.
Panarea
It is the smallest and lowest-lying of the Aeolian Islands, but the oldest of them all, attracting large numbers of tourists for its unspoilt coastline, underwater volcanic activity and nightlife. The tourist port is in the district of San Pietro, with its characteristic houses, workshops and shops.
Lipari
The largest island: its municipality includes all the islands except Salina. The Archaeological Museum, located in Lipari Castle, is well worth a visit. The castle stands in a large bay on the east coast, between the two inlets of Marina Lunga and Marina Corta, which are still the best landing places today.
Vulcano
According to Greek mythology, the lies of Hephaestus, god of fire and blacksmith, were found in Vulcan. On the island we can observe phenomena of volcanic origin: fumaroles, jets of steam are on the crest that submarines, and sulphurous muds with appreciated therapeutic properties.
